"Here's the sad story about a deer and a man.

A romantic scene from a lullaby.
In a clearing, green -- where his eyes met mine.
I was froze in motion. Oh! His bow was raised.
Then the fleeting notion - that my life he'd save.

But I saw it coming, flying through the air.
Feathered backside humming. Miss me. Hit me where
Where it will only hurt me, not a mortal wound.
Leave me lying dirty, someone would find me soon.

I have never felt like this before.
Felt my body sinking to the grassy floor,
No I have never known a love like this,
Felt the flaming arrows of the Hunter's Kiss.

My life is not mine.
Like a dog or a wife.
He has taken his time.
He has taken my life.

I could see the steaming of his cloudy breath,
No, I was not dreaming,
I was next to death.
As I lay there twitching,
Then my legs he tied.
There was nothing missing on the day I died."

Lyrics to Hunter's Kiss by Rasputina. I've always loved that song, and this weeks duel theme with was hunter, so I decided to make something to that song.

I don't like this very much.. I know I could've done much better, but I'm sick and feel like crap..so.. poo

The idea for the lip-wounds came from Michael Hussar's work.

Since I lost all my photographs I've been using stock.

I wish you'd illustrate the stuff I write.

On his first visit to England in the 1930's, Mahatma Gandhi was asked what he thought of Modern Civilization.
He replied,
"That would be a good idea."

but this is so sad... :(
:iconys-eye:
Incredibly eerie in your use of colours and shadows here... brilliant concept which illustrates the lyrics perfectly... and yes, I agree, this is tremendously sad :(

i think you did a great job. i love that song too, the picture goes perfectly with it

The plastic face forced to portray
All the insides left cold and gray
There is a place that still remains
It eats the fear it eats the pain
The sweetest price he'll have to pay
The day the whole world went away

I think you're being to hard on yourself. The pic is really beautiful and very sad. "Hunter's kiss" by Rasputina is an absolutely lovely song and I think you captured the setting real well. The towering shadow of the hunter standing over the dead deer creeps me out a bit.

I'm faving this one :)

I must say...I love both this one and the bw. The bw heightens the dark mood of the story in the lyrics, but this one puts it in a different light, which I can't quite figure what suits best! Nice work. Love the yellow/brownish colours you used here, goes really nice with the red lips, it makes them stand out more, and its a nice detail so thats good stuff :aww: I got a few rasputina mp3s, but I don't have this one, must download! *

She picked a dandelion, caught her breath, and blew. The seed parachutes came apart, a hundred drifting white umbrellas that soared into the gloom.

The man in the wilderness asked of me
how many strawberries grew in the sea.
I answered him as i thought good,
as many red herrings grow in the wood.
